Different processes have been improved by Simlogic and this section highlights a view of them. The focus always has been to increase cost efficiency and production output whilst maintaining or increasing product quality.

One improvement of particular interest is that of a specific transfer printing process that can be used to decorate different materials. It is used to decorate in high volumes aluminium slats, which are used in the to make Venetian blinds. The process can be applied to a variety of materials such as coils, panels, steel, aluminium, fabrics and wood and a photographic quality can be achieved. The benefits are clear and similar regardless of the type of industry.

Health Innovation; Mosquito killing device for malaria by In2Care

Malaria is an entirely preventable and treatable mosquito-borne illness. According to the latest estimates released in December 2014 there where about 198 million cases of malaria 2013 (with an uncertainty range of 124 million to 283 million) and an estimated 584.000 deaths (with an uncertainty range of 367.000 to 755.000).

Most deaths occur amongst children living in Africa where a child dies every minute from malaria. Malaria mortality rates amongst children in Africa have been reduced by an estimated 58% since the year 2000.

Key facts:

  •  •  Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bites of mosquitos.
  •  •  In 2013, malaria caused an estimated 548.000 deaths (with an uncertainty range of 367.000 to 755.000), mostly amongst African children.
  • •  Malaria is preventable and curable
  • •  Increased malaria prevention and control measures are dramatically reducing the malaria burden in many places all over the world.
  • •  Non-immune travellers from malaria-free areas are very vulnerable to the disease when they get infected.
  • •  90% of all malaria deaths occur in sub-Saharan Africa.
  • •  in 2012, malaria killed an estimated 482.000 children under five years of age, wich is 1300 children every day, or one child almost every minute!

These facts are the reason why simlogic has developed a mosquito contamination device wich contaminates the mosquitos with WHO approved insecticides, wich kills with only 10% of the approved quantity of insecticides, even mosquitos that are (according to the WHO) resistant to these insecticides! This product is now in a test phase on a large scale in Tanzania and Ivory Coast and is further improved by In2Care. See for more information: www.in2care.org

Our answer: Eavetube, a mosquito contamination device to kill malaria mosquito’s in a very effective way!

Health innovation; Mosquito killing device for Dengue by In2Care

Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease that has rapidly spread in all regions of WHO in recent years. Dengue virus is transmitted by female mosquitoes mainly of the species Aedes aegypti and, to a lesser extent, A. albopictus. The disease is widespread throughout the tropics, with local variations in risk influenced by rainfall, temperature and unplanned rapid urbanization.
Severe dengue (also known as Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever) was first recognized in the 1950s during dengue epidemics in the Philippines and Thailand. Today, severe dengue affects most Asian and Latin American countries and has become a leading cause of hospitalization and death among children in these regions.

Key facts:

  • • Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection.
  • • The infection causes flu-like illness, and occasionally develops into a potentially lethal complication called severe dengue.
  • • The global incidence of dengue has grown dramatically in recent decades.
  • • About half of the world’s population is now at risk.
  • • Dengue is found in tropical and sub-tropical climates worldwide, mostly in urban and semi-urban areas.
  • • Severe dengue is a leading cause of serious illness and death among children in some Asian and Latin American countries.
  • • There is no specific treatment for dengue/ severe dengue, but early detection and access to proper medical care lowers fatality rates below 1%.
  • • Dengue prevention and control solely depends on effective vector control measures.

These facts are the reason why Simlogic have developed a mosquito trap, which contaminate the mosquito with biological insecticides, and which is marketed and improved by In2Care. See for more information: www.in2care.org

Our answer: In2Trap, a mosquito contamination device, to controll vectors of mosquito-borne diseases, especially dengue.

Health innovation; Healthy Solar Powered Cookstove by Mimi Moto

The use of open fires and traditional cookstoves and fuels is one of the world’s most pressing health and environmental problems. Globally, three billion people rely on solid fuels to cook, causing serious environmental and health impacts that disproportionally affect women and children. According to the World Health Organization, household air pollution from cooking kills over 4 million people every year and sickens millions more.
Yet, safe, affordable, and accessible clean cooking solutions exist that can dramatically reduce fuel consumption and exposure to harmful cookstove smoke, while providing economic opportunities in communities around the world.

So this social problem was the driving force for Simlogic to invent a smart & affordable cookstove, which gasifies biomass fuel in an efficient way, so that there is no charcoal or large pieces of wood are needed, which safes the forest and make cooking much more healthy because the harmfull smoke will eliminated. Health innovation; Air filtering technoly by PollTec

Each spring, summer, and fall, tiny particles are released from trees, weeds, and grasses. These particles, known as pollen, hitch rides on currents of air. Although their mission is to fertilize parts of other plants, many never reach their targets. Instead, they enter human noses and throats, triggering a type of seasonal allergic rhinitis called pollen allergy, which many people know as hay fever or rose fever (depending on the season in which the symptoms occur). Of all the things that can cause an allergy, pollen is one of the most widespread. Many of the foods, drugs, or animals that cause allergies can be avoided to a great extent; even insects and household dust are escapable. Short of staying indoors when the pollen count is high–and even that may not help–there is no easy way to evade windborne pollen. Hay fever (Allergic Rhinitis) is the most common of the allergic diseases and refers to seasonal nasal symptoms that are due to pollens.

Simlogic developed a flexible, high-tech, specially coated polyester screening material filters and electrostatically traps pollen grains, allowing you to shut the air conditioner and enjoy fresh air.

This screening material marketed under the name PollenTEC®, PollTex or Polltec, blocks the entry of over 90% of ragweed pollen, over 99% of birch tree pollen, and essentially 100% of grass pollen. This material is a Winner of Window and Door Magazine’s 2009 Crystal Achievement Award for “Most Innovative Window Component”.

Our answer: Pollentec, a anti allergen mosquito netting.

Safety Innovation; Traffic Safety by Global Solar Vision

Nearly 3.400 people die on the world’s roads every day. Tens of millions of people are injured or disabled every year. Children, pedestrians, cyclists and older people are among the most vulnerable of road users.

So that is why Simlogic has invented a range of traffic guidance products, all equipped with the Sunboost3 technology, to make the products reliable under all weather conditions, during the year.

Global Solar Vision is manufacturing these products in Holland and sell there products worldwide, under the brand name Solar Vision products, which are also often branded under different distributor brands.

Educational Innovation; Solar energy conversion by Intivation

Facts:
Over 2.5 billion people in the world have no or intermittent access to electricity. The effects of using kerosene lights are:

  • • Traditional fuels can cause death, mostly from cardio-pulmonary disease; 50 percent of severe burn victims in some developing countries are victims of overturned kerosene lamps
  • • Kerosene lamps give off 190 million tons of CO2 into the atmosphere every year; that’s equal to operating 30 million vehicles
  • • The number of people living without electricity in Africa is expected to grow from 110 million to 120 million during the next decade.

The benefits of switching to solar energy are:

  • • Kerosene can cost 10-25 percent of a family’s income. A solar light is a one-time expense or a time-payment model – of about eight percent of that income.
  • • Solar energy is free, renewable and clean
  • • Students can study 38 percent longer with solar lights

So that is why Simlogic has invented a very efficient Solar boost circuit to convert the sunlight in an very efficient (app. 92% – 95%) way into a charge current to a battery pack. Due to this technology solar powered products charge much faster and can be made more compact and do actually really work.

Intivation markets this technology, under the brandname Sunboost3 technology. This technology is fitted into products like:
